Possessing over 25 years of professional experience, Mevlude “Mev” Markashi has remained dedicated to the field of health care, leveraging her passion and diligence in various health care settings. Commencing her career in 1995, she served as a registered nurse for a detention facility and subsequently worked in the field of acute care. Following these tenures, she served at AstraZeneca in pharmaceutical sales, where she became well-versed in business strategy, marketing and sales. Notably, she was recognized for her team leadership in product education during this time.

As her career progressed, Ms. Markashi served as the director of clinical operations for the Visiting Nurse Association of Staten Island from 2005 to 2010 and the regional director of patient services and regional vice president of operations for Premier Home Health Care Services, Inc., until 2015. She then expanded the scope of her practice as an independent consultant for the following six years.

Since 2021, Ms. Markashi has excelled as a clinical operations consultant for Markashi Home Health Consulting LLC in Staten Island, New York. As a home health care consultancy, the firm is comprised of Ms. Markashi and her team of highly qualified individuals who all deliver premier home care outcomes and maintain consistent financial performance. Ms. Markashi is uniquely responsible for providing clinical operations management services, as well as interim leadership roles to aid in the firm’s administrative efficiency, regulatory compliance and procedural flow. She also demonstrates expertise in compliance, quality of care, and staff development and training.

Ms. Markashi first pursued a formal education at the College of Staten Island, as part of the City University of New York, where she earned an Associate of Applied Science in nursing in 1995. She then received a Bachelor of Science in nursing, with a minor in psychology, from Lehman College in 1999. A registered nurse in the states of New York and New Jersey, she has also undergone certification in Patient Access Essentials and the Business of Healthcare through the Healthcare Financial Management Association, which also registered her as a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional and Certified Specialist in Business Intelligence.

When asked about contributing factors to her career success, Ms. Markashi cites the influence of her several mentors, including such prominent individuals as Joanne Knorr, who provided her with advice and support on how to make sound decisions and cultivate her leadership prowess. Further, she was instructed on how to provide excellent sales strategies and build relationships with physicians by Joy Trezza. Above all else, Ms. Markashi attributes a great deal of her success to her adaptability and attention to detail. In the coming years, she intends to facilitate deeper collaborations with health care agencies and medical professionals to expand the scope of her business.
