Supported by over 20 years of practiced expertise in health care, Dr. Monib A. Zirvi is recognized as a leader in the field of dermatology. Joining Summit Medical Group in 2004, he has served as a dermatologist while also concurrently excelling as an adjunct clinical instructor at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York. Alongside his primary endeavors, Dr. Zirvi has served as an attending dermatologist at the Atlantic Health System Overlook Medical Center and as a chairperson of the Princeton University Alumni Schools Committee of Northern Middlesex County.
To prepare for his career, Dr. Zirvi pursued a formal education at Princeton University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering in 1992. Thereafter, he matriculated at Weill Cornell Medicine, earning a Doctor of Philosophy and a Doctor of Medicine in molecular biology in 1996 and 2000, respectively. Dr. Zirvi completed his internship in internal medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in 2001 and his residency in dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania in 2004. Alongside his academic credentials, Dr. Zirvi is certified in strategic leadership in health care by New York University.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Zirvi has contributed to various research projects on diagnostics for DNA cancer detection and coauthored a myriad of articles in professional journals, including Archives of Dermatology and the Journal of Cutaneous Pathology. Furthermore, Dr. Zirvi has maintained an active affiliation with the American Academy of Dermatology and such civic organizations as the Summit Medical Group Foundation, Humanity First and amfAR.
To attest to his success, Dr. Zirvi has earned numerous accolades. In 2011, he received the Patient’s Choice Award from MDX Medical, Inc., having previously earned the Beerman-Johnson Resident Research Award from the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in 2003. Moreover, he has been highlighted in Top Doctors for Berkeley Heights and Top Doctors for Women’s Health in Castle Connolly, the New Jersey Monthly Top Doctors, Castle Connolly America’s Top Doctors, and Top Doctors in the New York Metropolitan Area.
In the coming years, Dr. Zirvi aims to continue witnessing the growth and success of his career, which will include expanding the scope of his prolific work at the Weill Cornell Medicine laboratories and his work in dermatology.
