Drawing upon over four decades of professional experience, Linda Sanders Perez is a recognized name in the field of aerospace defense. Following her graduation from high school, she joined The Boeing Company in 1979 as a graphic designer, then ascended through the ranks to assembler and manager of spacecraft integrity and testing of GSW and riggers. Thereafter, Ms. Perez excelled as a project manager with Boeing Intelligence and Analytics before being promoted again to the position of functional manager of Boeing Satellites. In her prominent role, she maintained responsibility for the oversight of building satellites and their transportation to the launch site. Impressively, she was the only female functional manager to work on satellites for The Boeing Company at that time. Ms. Perez subsequently retired in 2016.
Among her many career highlights, Ms. Perez is particularly proud of managing approximately 50 union technicians throughout her career, as well as being responsible for coordinating with spacecraft managers and engineers who worked for The Boeing Company on a daily basis. Furthermore, Ms. Perez was a team lead for BSS composite production and demonstrated expertise in such areas as battery production, microwave tubes, spot welding and cryogenics. She is also gratified by the opportunity to contribute to the launch preparation of the C-17 airplane and her collaboration with a team at Seal Beach on an unmanned aircraft flown by engineers on the ground. Before joining The Boeing Company, Ms. Perez also worked at Hughes Aircraft in 1979.
Drawing upon coursework in computer graphic design at El Camino College, Ms. Perez has been honored extensively for her achievements. In 2013 and 2014, she was provided an award for outstanding and excellent dedication to her profession by the National Association of Professional Women. She was ultimately influenced to enter the field of aerospace engineering and defense by her father, who also worked for The Boeing Company, Raytheon and Hughes Aircraft. Ms. Perez notes that her father played a pivotal role in her current success.
