Drawing upon over 40 years of professional experience, Dr. David M. Manuta is a recognized figure in the fields of chemistry, higher education and consulting. Since 1998, he has excelled as the founder, president, chemist and consultant of Manuta Chemical Consulting, Inc. Notably, Manuta Chemical Consulting was the first A+-rated independent scientific consulting firm in Ohio, as rated by the Better Business Bureau. While pursuing this venture, he also served as a research staff member with the United States Enrichment Corporation from 1990 to 2000, the director of the Midwest Office of InterCity Testing & Consultant Corporation from 2004 to 2010, and a senior consultant with Boson Technology Resources, LLC from 2005 to 2014.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Manuta served as an assistant professor II at Shawnee State University from 1989 to 1990 and an assistant professor at Upper Iowa University from 1986 to 1988. Likewise, he was a teaching assistant and postdoctoral fellow at the State University of New York at Binghamton from 1981 to 1986. He commenced his career in 1980 with Science Process & Research, serving as a laboratory technician until 1981. Outside of his primary career endeavors, Dr. Manuta lent his expertise as an expert witness, mediator, fire and explosion investigator, and advisor to several universities and regional institutions.
To prepare for his career, Dr. Manuta pursued a formal education at the State University of New York at Oneonta, receiving a Bachelor of Science in chemistry in 1979. He subsequently earned a Doctor of Philosophy in chemistry from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1985. In 2014, Dr. Manuta was the distinguished alumni lecturer at SUNY Binghamton, and that same year, he served in the inaugural group of Alumni of Distinction at SUNY Oneonta.
A fellow of the American Institute of Chemists (AIC), Dr. Manuta has received numerous accolades over the course of his career. In 2010, he earned the Presidential Citation of Merit from AIC, having also been recognized as a graduate fellow of the IBM Corporation in 1984 and 1985. In the coming years, he intends to continue growing his consultancy and delve into more mentorship opportunities.
