Now celebrating its 24th year in business, Thaddeus Robert Henry Deane has excelled as the owner of Sanctuary since 1999, a renowned game store in Wenatchee, Washington. Mr. Deane is delighted to see his game store reach its 25th anniversary in business in 2024. Drawing upon a formative love of games, he maintains responsibility for overseeing all daily operations of Sanctuary while also sponsoring and facilitating tournaments for “Magic: The Gathering” games. He prides himself on providing a comfortable, warm and safe environment for gaming enthusiasts of all ages.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Deane served with the Leavenworth Forest Service fire crew as a member of the engine crew, followed by a two-year tenure with the Chelan Rappelers to aid in the control and suppression of forest fires in Washington State. Thereafter, he worked seasonally with Pirelli Jacobson from 1996 to 1999, having also demonstrated his professional expertise as a bouncer at the Clearwater Bar from 2001 to 2003. Likewise, he served in the special forces of the United States Navy SEALS between 1987 and 1993, attaining the rank of E4. Outside of his primary efforts, Mr. Deane is a supporter of his local fire department and police department, having aided their causes with yearly donations. He also lives by the motto, “History holds the key to the truth that affects us all now.”

Among the many highlights of his career, Mr. Deane is particularly proud of being a father to his four children, as well as establishing his own business. In the coming years, he would like to witness the continued growth and success of Sanctuary, as well as provide a safe space for individuals to learn about life and how to make the world a better place.
