Drawing upon over a decade of professional experience, Dr. Jasmine U. Kearse has been recognized as a psychiatrist and researcher in the Atlanta region of Georgia. With a particular interest in helping individuals with mental health concerns, she has always believed that mental illness does not define the person with the disorder; instead, it is a medical condition that requires treatment. To this end, Dr. Kearse has provided excellent comprehensive care for patients with such conditions as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and more. She presently excels as the chief executive officer and a psychiatrist with Aligned Cognition Healthcare Services, P.C.
Alongside her primary vocation, Dr. Kearse has served as the supervising psychiatrist of NPs since 2018, as well as a psychiatrist at Salveo Integrative Health since 2020 and the medical director of Renew Health Clinical Research since 2021. Additionally, she has lent her expertise to her community as a medical volunteer for the Physician Care Clinic and psychiatrist for the Physician Support Line. Furthermore, Dr. Kearse is a mentor for the Black Mental Wellness Corporation, a virtual community of individuals with the mission to improve the mental health of the Black community.
To prepare for her career, Dr. Kearse received a Bachelor of Science in biology from Georgia State University in 2005, followed by a Doctor of Medicine from the Medical University of the Americas in 2011. Board approved in allopathic medicine via the Georgia Medical Board, she also recently completed the Harvard Global Mental Health Trauma and Recovery course in 2022. The same year, she authored her book, “To Whom It May Concern: Thoughts from a Psychiatrist.” She recently released a therapeutic coloring book called “Hues of Mental Illness.”
Earlier in her career, Dr. Kearse served as a psychiatry patient liaison at PACT Atlanta LLC in 2011 and was a resident physician at the Bergen New Bridge Medical Center between 2012 and 2015. Thereafter, she worked as a staff psychiatrist for Anchor Hospital until 2021. While serving as an academic chief resident, Dr. Kearse notably received an accolade for her excellence in service in 2015.
Dr. Kearse maintains membership with the Atlanta Medical Association, the National Medical Association and the Georgia Medical Association. In the forthcoming years, she wants to expand her practice and become more involved in speaking engagements concerning her areas of expertise. Ultimately, she intends to educate others about mental health to reduce the stigma associated with mental illnesses.
