Subsequent to serving in the United States Air Force for three years between 1954 and 1957, Marvin Konopik accepted a job offer with the U.S. Department of State. During his tenure with the Department of State, he served as a communications officer for nearly 40 years prior to his retirement in 1995. As part of his responsibilities, Mr. Konopik notably worked in U.S. embassies across the globe and was responsible for the emergency network system of the embassy, which included radio and television.

Likewise, Mr. Konopik was a cryptographic officer, an individual who writes and solves codes, and spent much of his time with the Department of State in repairing electronics such as typewriters and copy machines. Although his career was suffused with highlights, he was especially proud of working in the Office of Mission Control in Washington, D.C.

To supplement his post-work activity and engage in continual learning, Mr. Konopik complete coursework and received a certification in drafting in AutoCAD from the College of Southern Nevada in 2000. He has also maintained affiliation with Future Farmers of America and earned a myriad of Meritorious Service Awards from the Air Force.

Mr. Konopik attributes his success to his perseverance through struggle, his determination to complete every task available to him and his ability see his jobs through to completion. To this end, he emphasizes that his innate affinity for performing jobs accurately has been an invaluable learning experience, through which he has gained considerable insight. Looking toward the future, he intends to continue enjoying his well-deserved retirement with his wife, children and grandchildren.
