Anthony Morello is a distinguished food retail industry executive with more than 45 years of professional excellence in the field. Since 2014, he has excelled as the president of Aurora Importing and Distributing in North York, Ontario, Canada. With specializations in the food importing and exporting industry, he has dedicated four decades to the distribution of food services to a variety of entities. Prior to attaining his present role, he served Perennial Design, Inc., as a professional retailing team executive from 2012 to 2013, as well as Sobeys Ontario as vice president of commercial programs within the Multi-Format Business Unit and vice president of merchandising grocery, produce, deli/HMR and grocery procurement in Store Services between 2009 and 2012.

Formerly self-employed as a consultant from 2008 to 2009, Mr. Morello serviced A&P Canada/Metro Canada in Etobicoke, Ontario, between 1979 and 2008. First hired as a produce clerk in 1979, he escalated through the ranks to produce manager in 1981, assistant store manager in 1985, produce buyer in 1986, inventory manager in 1989 and category manager of the Consumables Desk in 1992. Subsequently, he became director of category management in conventional business in 1996, director of grocery merchandising in 1997, director of category management in food basics in 1998 and vice president of category management in 2000. From 2001 to 2003, Mr. Morello was vice president of merchandising, and from 2003 to 2006, he flourished as senior vice president and chief merchandising officer. Additionally, from 2006 to 2008, he also served as a senior vice president of food basics merchandising for Metro/A&P Canada. He commenced his career in 1973 as a part-time produce clerk at Loblaws Ltd.

Throughout the years, Mr. Morello has excelled in his myriad positions, ensuring the continued growth and success of every company for which he has worked. In light of his outstanding accomplishments with Aurora Importing and Distributing, he and his company were named Top Importer in the GTA and was named Top Italian Food Importer in Canada in 2019.

Drawing upon an academic degree in business and mathematics from Wexford Collegiate in Scarborough, Ontario, from which he graduated with honors in 1978, Mr. Morello continued postgraduate college coursework from 1978 to 1979. Looking forward, he intends to ease into semi-retirement, emphasizing that he does not foresee himself ever retiring completely. Likewise, he would like to spend more time with his family and grandchildren.
