Reynolds, Glenn 4752177_24332363 Newsletter REVISEDGlenn Franklin Reynolds is a valued scientist, who has accrued 37 years of professional experience. Retired since 2004, he most recently served Merck & Co., Inc., in Rahway, New Jersey, as a medicinal research scientist beginning in 1991. Hired by the prestigious company in 1967, he first served as a research scientist from 1967 to 1970 and staff chemist from 1970 to 1977. From there, he became a research chemist and senior research associate between 1977 and 1991.

During his tenure with Merck & Co., Mr. Reynolds was a recruiter at several prominent universities including Fairleigh Dickinson University, Howard University, the University of North California and Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. Drawing upon a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, he has since maintained membership with the American Chemical Society. In addition, he is a member of the Apache Junction Mounted Rangers, joining the organization in 2018.

A prolific author, Mr. Reynolds has contributed more than 25 articles to professional publications and holds 15 U.S. patents in the field. Impressively, he was named an Intellectual Property Owners Inventor of the Year in 1993 for his invention of the prostate drug Proscar (Finasteride). Attributing much of his success to his mentors, he feels lucky to have been guided by Dr. Glen Arth, his first supervisor at Merck & Co., and Dr. Gary Rasmusson and Dr. Phil Eskola, his supervisors at Merck & Co.

Highlighted in myriad editions of Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the East, Mr. Reynolds advises future scientists and professionals to utilize the progression of technology in today’s era. Noting that technology has been advancing greatly in recent years, he enjoys studying computer science in his spare time.

Born in Rahway, New Jersey, in 1944 to parents Frank Vanderbilt and Estelle (Ohlott) Reynolds, Mr. Reynolds married his late wife, Marianne DelliSanti, in 1967. Together, they shared three children, William Matthew, David Glenn and Wendy Joy. He currently resides in Gold Canyon, Arizona.
