After departing from the U.S. Peace Corps in 1965, Mr. Boldt was approached by his father, who asked Mr. Boldt to take care of his family farm until his father’s retirement. With his background in the sciences, Mr. Boldt successfully has looked after the family farm in Ulysses, Kansas, with a scientific approach since 1974. Currently, he is conducting experiments with organic farming, soil health and grain farming. His inspiration in farming came from his father’s diligent work and his passion to help others within his community.
Alongside his farming endeavors, Mr. Boldt has contributed to his community on the Cimarron regional advisory committee for the State of Kansas Water Office for many years, and is a former secretary and president of the Ulysses Lions Club. Likewise, he has been a member of the Grant County Conservation Board.
Among the highlights of his career, Mr. Boldt is proudest of his involvement in the American Agriculture Movement. He was part of the Tractorcade to Washington, DC, and was the chairman of the regional agriculture movement in southwest Kansas. Looking toward the future, he intends to continue experimenting with some developing trends in agriculture and continue contributing to the State of Kansas Water Office.
