With nearly 50 years of professional experience to his name, William G. Rothstein has been a professor emeritus of sociology at the University of Maryland since 2013. Prior to retirement, Dr. Rothstein served as an assistant professor and full professor at the University of Maryland between 1966 and 2013. He commenced his career in a different light, holding the position of research analyst at Prudential Financial, Inc. in Newark, N.J., from 1964 to 1966.

In preparation for his celebrated career, Dr. Rothstein received a Bachelor of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1959. He followed this accomplishment with a Master of Arts from the University of Minnesota in 1961. Subsequently, he fortified his educational pedigree by earning a Doctor of Philosophy from the acclaimed Cornell University in 1965. He has since become a member of the American Association for the History of Medicine.

A prolific author, Dr. Rothstein is proud to present the publication of his newest novel in May 2018, “The Coronary Heart Disease Pandemic in the 20th Century: Emergence & Decline in Advanced Countries.” Alongside his most recent novel, he has published several other books in the past, including “Public Health and The Risk Factor” in 2003, “Readings in American Health Care” in 1995, “American Medical Schools and the Practice of Medicine” in 1987, and “American Physicians in the 19th Century” in 1972.

In recognition of his lifetime achievements, Dr. Rothstein has been honored with inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who print directories, such as Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the East.
