During her studies, she grew fond of the medical specialty of endocrinology. “It has been very rewarding for me to help patients both globally and locally,” she explains, adding that she has transitioned into an academic role in recent years in an effort to take hold of the educational needs and innovation required to run a successful and challenging fellowship program. Dr. Ramirez-Vick loves academia and feels that she is able to make a great impact on her industry by mentoring the next generation of endocrinologists.

Dr. Ramirez-Vick holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Puerto Rico. She completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism before establishing her career. Today, she holds a Puerto Rico State Medical License, as well as a certification in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism from the American Board of Internal Medicine.

In addition to her work at the University of Puerto Rico, Dr. Ramirez-Vick has given back to her professional community through various civic projects and participation in industry organizations.
