Melvin Colón is a highly sought-after consultant in the pharmaceutical and manufacturing industries, widely regarded for his comprehensive expertise in regulatory compliance and quality assurance. As a senior quality assurance consultant at MCD Consulting Services Inc. and the FDA Group LLC, he has overseen pharmaceutical and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with stringent regulatory standards.
Recently, Mr. Colón’s work has encompassed regulatory compliance for a vaccine distributor in Mexico and cleaning validation efforts at a biosimilar facility in Iceland. He also conducted assessments for a cosmetic manufacturing facility in Korea and guided a team in Memphis to transform a clinical trial site into the very first cell and gene therapy commercial facility to receive regulatory approval in the United States. Throughout his career, Mr. Colón has worked for a myriad of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and manufacturing companies – including the Henrici Group – testifying to his profound success in the field.
Highly educated, Mr. Colón holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial chemistry from Universidad de Puerto Rico, which he obtained in 1997. After accruing years of experience in his profession, he earned two master’s degrees in engineering management and manufacturing competitiveness from Universidad Politécnica de Puerto Rico in 2000 and 2010, respectively.
Among his noteworthy career achievements, Mr. Colón is particularly proud of successfully supporting a site operating under a consent decree to meet regulatory commitments without any observations and within the established timeframes. He has also received numerous accolades for his work, such as two Cash Awards for Performance and several Performance Recognition Awards.
Outside of his vocational obligations, Mr. Colón is a staunch supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and related charitable initiatives.
