Health Care

Dedicating more than 30 years to nursing, Christie Ferguson is highly regarded in legal nurse consulting with ambitions to offer her services on a nationwide basis. Since 2024, she has applied her comprehensive knowledge of health care as the owner and lead nurse consultant of Integrated Legal Health Solutions LLC, a company specializing in legal nurse consulting that assists attorneys by reviewing medical records and providing consultative services on cases worth pursuing from medical perspectives. Notably, Ms. Ferguson’s company covers many legal specialties, including personal injury, risk management, policy compliance, medical malpractice and pharmaceuticals.

Concurrent with her primary focus on legal nurse consulting, Ms. Ferguson is a nurse liaison for the United States Department of Defense, where she performs the effective execution and operations of medical missions and demonstrates compliance with legislative intent in DoD-level presentations. In this role since 2003, Ms. Ferguson has managed multiple pilot programs and changes as requested by various governmental bodies. During her longstanding tenure with the DoD, Ms. Ferguson also served as a staff nurse at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where she was the very first civilian head nurse in the military’s emergency department. Thereafter, she was promoted in 2007 as the director of nursing in the United States Defense Health Agency Department until 2015. Impressively, her unwavering commitment to her work earned her a transfer to the Regional Health Command Atlantic at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, as a senior nurse consultant for program management in primary care medical home until 2020. She was also the senior nurse program manager for 75 medical homes on the East Coast and a senior nurse consultant for 250 nurse case managers. Remarkably, all her primary care clinics were successful in receiving accreditation from the Joint Commission.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Ferguson served in the emergency department of the Level II Trauma Center at the Baltimore VA Medical Center from 1997 to 2003. She commenced her career in 1993, where she worked as a staff nurse in the medical-surgical department at the Grand Island VA Medical Center in Nebraska for four years.

Having accepted several accolades during her career – including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the DAISY Foundation, two Meritorious Civilian Service Awards and the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service – Ms. Ferguson attributes her success to her parents’ resounding inspiration, which affected her deep emphasis on humility and her studious work ethic. In the coming years, Ms. Ferguson aims to transform Integrated Legal Health Solutions LLC to a national level to help more individuals before easing into a well-deserved retirement.
