An emerging leader in the field of medical science, Anthony Michael Fossceco has garnered nearly 10 years of experience since commencing his professional career in 2015. First serving as a research assistant at his alma mater, the University of Utah, between 2015 and 2016, he went on to serve as a researcher for the Midvale Screening Project in Midvale, Utah, for the following year.

After graduating with his bachelor’s degree in 2017, Mr. Fossceco joined the staff at Associated Regional and University Pathologists (ARUP) Laboratories in Salt Lake City. Recognized as a medical laboratory scientist II from 2017 to 2021, he has served as a mass spectrometry application specialist since 2021. In his role, Mr. Fossceco validates and redevelops mass spectrometry tests based on provided patient samples. In addition, he conducts comprehensive data analysis. In accounting for his success, he credits the unwavering support and guidance of his mentors, as well as his organizational skills and patient-centric approach to his work. To wit, he is particularly proud of developing an updated pathway for ARUP Laboratories, which will allow the company to increase its specificity in newborn testing.

To prepare for his blossoming career, Mr. Fossceco attended the University of Utah, receiving dual Bachelor of Science degrees in psychology and medical laboratory science in 2017. He was also certified in laboratory management by the American Society of Clinical Pathology, with which he maintains active membership. In addition, he is a member of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science.

Looking toward the future, Mr. Fossceco intends to experience continued growth and success in his career. In particular, he aims to develop more laboratories as an extension of his ultimate goal of improving the medical science industry. To accomplish this, Mr. Fossceco endeavors to return to higher education and achieve a master’s degree or doctorate.
