Leveraging 25 years of professional excellence, Richard T. Nance is well-regarded in engineering principles for the automotive industry. Currently, he thrives as the lead quality control assistant manager at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, where he has applied his advanced knowledge of process improvement, quality control, data management, and quality auditing. In his position, he has developed new process applications to reduce ergonomic concerns with team members, orchestrated annual capital and expense budget reviews, and directed routine evaluations of information systems, among other responsibilities.

Prior to assuming his most recent role, Mr. Nance worked with Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama in several distinct capacities, including as a quality specialist between 2004 and 2006 and as a quality control assistant manager between 2006 and 2012. Likewise, he was a quality control assistant manager of equipment and VPC quality analysis from 2012 to 2016. He commenced his career in 1999 as a specialist for DaimlerChrysler, remaining in that role until 2004.

To prepare for his career, Mr. Nance pursued a formal education at Prairie View A&M University, receiving a Bachelor of Engineering in electrical and electronics engineering in 1995. Outside of his primary vocational posts, he previously maintained membership with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (more commonly known as IEEE). He is a current member of the American Society for Quality. Civically engaged as well, Mr. Nance is affiliated with the United Way, the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation and the SistasCanSurvive Coalition Inc., where he formerly served as president.

As a testament to his success, Mr. Nance has garnered numerous accolades. In 2023, he was named Team Member of the Year by Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, having previously accepted the Core Values Award from the organization in 2022. In accounting for his success, he credits the guidance received from his family, which ultimately shaped his career ambitions and vocational path. Looking toward the future, Mr. Nance endeavors to pursue a master’s degree in power electronics to expand the scope of his understanding of the profession.
