Since 1971, Dr. Albert “Al” E. Depew has thrived as the president of the eponymous Depew Tax/Estate Planning, where he provides leading financial counsel to individuals looking to plan for future wealth management. Working alongside many other industry experts, including attorneys and judges specializing in estate planning, Dr. Depew has handled more than $1 billion in estate value. Earlier in his career, Dr. Depew was a member of the United States Navy, where he served as a surgeon with a specialization in ear, nose and throat (ENT) procedures for veterans returning from Vietnam and the Korean War in the early 1970s. Notably, he served as a private duty nurse for Mongi Slim, the first African to serve as president of the United Nations General Assembly, during his tenure at the Tunisian Embassy in Washington, D.C. In addition, Dr. Depew worked with Gideons International, a nonprofit Evangelical Christian organization, spending eight years working at Butler County Prison on a monthly basis. In light of his outstanding undertakings with military service, Dr. Depew was named an adjunct member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
In honor of his prowess in wealth management and estate planning, Dr. Depew received the Lifetime Award for 50 honorable years in his profession from the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils in 2021. Highly educated, he received a Bachelor of Science from Grove City College in 1968, followed by a Master of Science in pharmacology from Ohio State University in 1973. Subsequently, Dr. Depew received a Master of Science in financial services from American College in 1975. In 1992, he was bestowed with a doctorate in estate planning from the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils. Looking toward the future, Dr. Depew aims to continue advancing in his career in estate planning while spending more time with his beloved wife, Joan E. Depew, as they travel across the world.
