Drawing upon more than eight years of professional experience, Alex J. Schussman is a rising leader in the fields of humanitarianism and finance. Since 2023, he has thrived as a retail loan originator for First National Bank Bemidji in Bemidji, Minnesota. In his position, he focuses his responsibilities on consumer and mortgage lending, placing a keen emphasis on his business-oriented skills. He first joined First National Bank Bemidji in 2019, serving as a customer service representative until accepting his current role in 2023.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Schussman was an intern for the Bemidji Youth Soccer Association in 2019, where he remains today as a board member. Likewise, he interned at the Great Plains Athletic Conference in 2019, was a summer maintenance worker for the Bemidji Independent School District 31 in 2019, and served as a boys U-10 coach with the Bemidji Youth Soccer Association between 2015 and 2016. He commenced his career in 2016 as a youth soccer coach for the City of Orange City, Iowa.
Leveraging his advanced education, Mr. Schussman attained a Bachelor of Science in sports management, with a minor in business administration, from Northwestern College in 2019. After spending a number of years in the areas of sports administration and coaching, he decided to pivot his career path toward business management. Subsequently, he entered the field of finance, where he has since excelled.
Outside of his primary vocational appointments, Mr. Schussman is a dedicated member of his community. A board member of the Bemidji Youth Soccer Association and the Boys and Girls Club of the Bemidji Area, he is also a committee co-chair for the Backpack Buddies Program of the United Way of the Bemidji Area. In light of his exceptional contributions, he was honored with the Someone Special Volunteer Award from the United Way of the Bemidji Area in 2023.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Schussman aims to improve his existing skills to further his career. Furthermore, he endeavors to maintain a strong presence in his community, lending his expertise to make the city of Bemidji a better place for citizens to reside. In his leisure time, Mr. Schussman enjoys volunteering, coaching, hunting, fishing, playing golf, and spending time with family and friends.
