Dr. Brittany C. Clayton is a recognized figure in the field of medicine, drawing upon over a decade of professional expertise. Since 2021, she has served as the president and primary physician of the East Tennessee Vein Clinic in Knoxville, Tennessee. In her leadership roles, she specializes in treating superficial vein disease, also known as phlebology. Among her varying responsibilities, Dr. Clayton is also responsible for performing procedures such as endovenous catheter ablation, as well as ambulatory phlebectomy and sclerotherapy. Notably, the East Tennessee Vein Clinic is the only female physician-owned company in East Tennessee that treats superficial venous disease.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Clayton served as an ophthalmologist at the Murfreesboro Medical Clinic and Surgical Center from 2019 to 2020 and at the Baptist Eye Institute from 2017 to 2019. She also thrived as a physician at Tennessee River Family Medicine from 2012 to 2013 and was a resident physician at the Birmingham Baptist Medical Center from 2011 to 2012. In pursuit of her career, she also pursued a formal education, having first received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2007. She went on to complete a Doctor of Medicine from the College of Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2011. Subsequently, Dr. Clayton completed a residency in ophthalmology at Nassau University Hospital in 2016 and a fellowship in ophthalmology at The Eye Institute of West Florida in 2017.

A board-certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Clayton subsequently decided to refocus her efforts on venous disease. To this end, she is a diplomate of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, a Registered Phlebology Sonographer, and a member of the American Venous and Lymphatic Society and the American Medical Association.

In accounting for her success, Dr. Clayton is particularly proud of the success of the East Tennessee Vein Clinic, and she advises that she is well-regarded in her area for treating each of her patients like family members. She also attributes a great deal of her early success in the field to her respect for her patients, which has since propelled her to the forefront of her industry. As a testament to her success, she won a Best in Show Award. Looking toward the future, Dr. Clayton would like to expand her practice and continue aiding patients and community members alike.
