Robert “Moss” Cartwright leverages over 50 years of professional experience in the fields of finance and sales. Since 2010, he has served as a senior managing director of institutional sales and trading at Mesirow Financial. Earlier in his career, he served in several noteworthy roles, including as partner of head taxable fixed income at William Blair from 1983 to 2010, vice president head of the corporate bond department at First Mid-America, Inc., from 1981 to 1983, and institutional researcher, salesperson and vice president at Dean Witter from 1976 to 1980.

Likewise, Mr. Cartwright excelled as an institutional salesperson and vice president at Paine Webber and an institutional salesperson at Bear Stearns from 1972 to 1975 and at Eastman Dillon Union Securities from 1971 to 1972. He began his career in 1969, working in the research and trust department at First National Bank of Chicago until 1971. Prior to embarking on his career, Mr. Cartwright received a Bachelor of Arts from North Park University (formerly North Park College) in 1968 and later became a licensed stockbroker.

Among the many highlights of his career, Mr. Cartwright is especially proud of continuing his employment for over five decades, serving as a testament to his excellent service and reputation. Outside of his primary endeavors, he authored and edited “Bond Charts” from 1972 to 1992. Additionally, as a civic-minded member of his community, he previously sat on the board of directors of the Hinsdale Community House Basketball Program from 1984 to 1991 and the Hinsdale Youth Center from 1990 to 1992. Notably, he was president of the Clarendon Hills Little League between 1985 and 1986.

In the coming years, Mr. Cartwright intends to continue excelling in his field. He has always enjoyed the opportunities his vocation has presented to him, and he looks forward to spending more time on the job. He has specialized in underwriting and selling credit tenant leases and ground leases, as well as private bond transactions. In light of his outstanding feats, he was highlighted in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who in the Midwest.
