Since 2019, Allen D. Ruppel has excelled as the Co-Founder and President of the Unity in Hope School System, Inc. In his prominent role, he maintains responsibility for working with other leadership team members to develop long-term development strategies, as well as cultivating support and funding development for the ever-expanding system. The successful school system is located in Iqbal Town Islamabad, Pakistan, where disease, malnutrition, illiteracy and poverty are rampant. Children grow up with no educational opportunities. A second school is opening in May 2023. The second school will also include a community center offering micro-loans for business development, business training and adult literacy programs. Unity in Hope Schools are the only Christian schools that are tuition-free in the economically deprived areas of Islamabad. Members of all faith traditions are welcome.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Ruppel served Northwestern Mutual in various management positions between 1995 and 2010. While pursuing this endeavor, he also excelled as the Founder and Executive Director of Unity in Motion, an organization that creates youth development programs for children in the central city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from 2000 to 2019. Furthermore, Mr. Ruppel serves on the Board of Directors of the Center for Urban Teaching and Jacarrie’s Kicks for Kids, as well as the Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Hope Christian Schools Network.

Before embarking on his career, Mr. Ruppel served with the United States Navy from 1980 to 1984, whereupon he worked in nuclear submarine navigation. He was a member of the fifth nuclear submarine in history to circumnavigate the world. In light of his exceptional military achievements and long history of community service, he was bestowed with the Positively Milwaukee Inspiring Veteran Award from TMJ4 Milwaukee in 2022. After completing his service in the Navy, he pursued a formal education at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. In 1989, he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.

Looking toward the future, Mr. Ruppel would like to continue expanding the Unity in Hope School System, Inc., and recruit more organizations and individuals who will continue the system’s work. Additionally, he would like to help Jacarrie’s Kicks for Kids reach an autonomous level where it will be sustainable for the long term. He lives and works by the phrase, “The biggest prison is self, and the greatest triumph is growing beyond it.”
