Military Service

Deriving inspiration from her father, a United States Navy veteran who served 35 years, Brenda L. Elliott has excelled in the field of military service. First joining the United States Air Force in 1982 as an aerospace space technician, she transferred to the United States Coast Guard in 1987 and finally transferred to the United States Army as an x-ray technician. For 17 years, she thrived in civil service with the Great Plains Regional Contracting Office and Non-Appropriated Funding Contracting Office as an 1105 and 1102 contract specialist until her retirement from civil service in 2002.

Prior to embarking on her career in the military, Ms. Elliott received a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, with a minor in biological science, from California State University and went on to serve in the military. She is continuing to receive a master’s degree in contract management from American Graduate University during her civil service.

In light of her outstanding feats in the armed forces, Ms. Elliott was the recipient of a Gold German Army Marksmanship Shooting Cord Award, a Meritorious Service Medal, an Army Commendation Medal (2nd Award), an Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award), and an Air Force Expert Marksmanship Ribbon Small Arms. She also earned an Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, an Army Good Conduct Medal (5th Award), an Air Force Good Conduct Medal, a National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), an Armed Service Medal, and a Non-Commissioned Officer Primary Leadership Development Award (2nd Award).
