Following his receipt of his bachelor’s degree, Adekunle Fatai Salau commenced his career in 1988 in his native Nigeria, where he worked with a state electricity company as a pupil programmer. Thereafter, he joined PriceWaterhouse in 1994 and, subsequently, became a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2005. During his tenure with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr. Salau served as the partner-in-charge and leader in consulting throughout West, Central and East Africa, spanning across 12 countries.

Mr. Salau departed from PricewaterhouseCoopers and joined Ernst and Young in 2011, through which he excelled as the partner-in-charge and advisory leader for West Africa until 2017. Since 2017, he has thrived as the founder and chief executive officer for AFS Consulting, Inc., as well as for Automata Associates Ltd. Notably, his consulting firm specializes in both business and organizational transformation for corporate entities, government sectors and nonprofit organizations. Through his consultancy, Mr. Salau also assist businesses who intend to improve upon their business strategies, transition to digital platforms or increase process efficiency.

To prepare for his career, Mr. Salau received a Bachelor of Science in computer sciences and a Master of Science in computer sciences from the University of Lagos in 1987 and 1989, respectively. He also completed the course “Visual Studio Essential Training: 01 Exploring the Visual Studio Ecosystem” in 2017, through which he received certification in visual studio training. To remain abreast of developments in his areas of expertise, Mr. Salau maintains affiliation with the British Computer Society, the Nigeria Computer Society and the Association for Computing Machinery, with which he is also a lifetime member.

In accounting for his success, Mr. Salau credits the abiding love and support from his family. He notes that he has worked for large corporations in the technology arena for over 20 years, which has provided him with great insight in relation to how businesses require professional support to advance in their fields. In the forthcoming years, Mr. Salau intends to witness the continued growth of AFS Consulting, eventually reaching an international audience. He would also like to serve as a mentor to emerging leaders in his industry.
