Education

While pursuing his undergraduate collegiate studies, Dr. David K. Roemer completed a metaphysics course with Professor W. Norris Clarke. Notably, his professor received a standing ovation at the completion of the course in light of his logical and rational perspectives, which also garnered inspiration in the young Dr. Roemer. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in physics from Fordham University in 1964 and a Doctor of Philosophy in physics from New York University in 1971. Following his receipt of his doctorate degree, he served as the manager of radiation therapy products with Litton Medical Systems from 1972 to 1977 and as a product specialist with Siemens Corporation from 1977 to 1983. During his tenure with Siemens, Dr. Roemer completed a Master of Business Administration at the Lubin School of Business at Pace University in 1980. Over the course of his career, he has also engaged in continuous distance learning and online instruction.

Upon his departure from Siemens, Dr. Roemer served as a high school physics teacher at Edward R. Murrow High School with the New York City Department of Education from 1984 until his academic retirement in 1998. Since that time, he has focused his attention full-time on religious studies, through which he leverages a plethora of websites to discuss the interconnections between science and religion. He aims to “explore and share the close connection between faith and reason as revealed by new discoveries in physics and philosophy.” To this end, he has posted several YouTube videos on his beliefs and discoveries.

With equal expertise in religious speaking, theological studies, academia and business, Dr. Roemer has contributed a number of articles to professional journals, including the article “Science, Metaphysics, Philosophy, Theology, History and the Holy Shroud.” He has also maintained professional affiliation with the American Philosophical Association and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Looking toward the future, Dr. Roemer intends to continue speaking on religious topics and educating his viewers and audience on the complexities of religion as it relates to science, particularly within the realm of the study of evolution.
