Drawing upon nearly 45 years of eminent experience in dentistry, academia and consultancy, Dr. Daniel E. Jolly has excelled as a chief forensic odontologist for Franklin and Licking Counties in Ohio since 2000, where he provides expert witness testimonies and consultative advice at legal trials. Noteworthy as a diplomate of the American Board of Special Care Dentistry since 2004, he previously served in myriad capacities for dental offices, insurance companies and academic institutions, having served The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, between 1987 and 2008 as an associate professor, full professor and director of the General Practice Residency Program. Likewise, he spent time as a part-time dental director for an insurance company, the chief of restorative dentistry for the Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri, the director of dental oncology at Trinity Lutheran Hospital, the president of Immeadiadent of Ohio, and an assistant professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. At the inception of his career, he served in private practice in Newcastle, Wyoming, for one year.

Dr. Jolly holds a Bachelor of Arts in biology and chemistry and a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and subsequently completed a residency in hospital dentistry at the Leavenworth VA Medical Center in Kansas by 1978. Demonstrating versatility in his profession, he has further authored numerous books, including the “OSU Manual of Hospital Dentistry” in 1989, “Nursing Home Dentistry” and “Dental Oncology” in 1986, “Hospital Dentistry” in 1985 and “Hospital Dental Hygiene” in 1984. He has excelled as a frequent speaker on subject areas such as forensic and medical dentistry over the course of his career, and, to give back to his community, has been a director of the Honduras Clinic Project. He is also a former board director of the Easter Seal Society.

Impressively, Dr. Jolly is a fellow of the American College of Dentistry, the Academy of Dentistry for the Handicapped, the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Association of Hospital Dentists, for whom he has served as president, regional vice president, secretary and president-elect. Since 2004, he has served as president of the American Board of Special Care Dentistry, and is a past president of the Academy of Dentistry for the Handicapped and the International Association of Dentistry for the Handicapped. Furthermore, he previously excelled as chairman of the Federation of Special Care Dentistry Association and is a noted member of the American and Ohio Dental Associations, among other organizations.

As a testament to his success, Dr. Jolly earned numerous Alumni Achievement Awards from the University of Missouri-Kansas City between 1994 and 1998 and the 1998 Humanitarian Award from the Ohio Dental Association.
