Entrepreneurship

Inspired by the women around her who were entrepreneurs and exhibited great passion for their work, Patricia A. Blue desired to model her own work ethic and modalities after these women. After receiving certificates from the Naval Post Graduate School in 1998 and from St. Leo University in 2000, she began serving as a budget analyst in the Comptroller Office of the U.S. Joint Forces Command in 2001, holding the role for seven years. From there, she served as a financial manager in the Comptroller Office from 2008 to 2010 and a program analyst for the Strategy and Future Requirements Division from 2010 to 2011, both located within the Naval Installations Command. Subsequently, she has excelled as a member at The Career Engineer since 2012.

Since 2011, Ms. Blue has also flourished as an independent beauty consultant for Mary Kay, Inc., having previously lent her expertise to the U.S. Department of Defense in Washington, D.C., and in a variety of leadership roles in the Princess Anne Business and Professional Women’s Club. In May of 2020, she was notably appointed to serve on the board of directors of the Virginia Opera Guild.

Although her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Blue is especially proud of writing and publishing her first novel, “Broken Doll,” in 2018, which was published through Dorrance Publishing. To attest to her success, she was profiled in Who’s Who in Executive Women by Covington in 2012, and was also the recipient of a Joint Civilian Service Achievement Award in 2008. Likewise, Ms. Blue received recognition for Outstanding Achievement by the U.S. Joint Forces Command in 2008.

Civically engaged as well, Ms. Blue was a 15-year member of the Atlantic International Toastmaster’s Club in Norfolk, Virginia, and won Third Place at the International Toastmaster’s Competition in 1994. She has also been a nine-year member of the Future Billionaires Club in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and has contributed her plethora of knowledge to charity organizations, such as the Compassion Advocacy Network and Stand Up for Kids. She also volunteered for two weeks at a summer camp for STEM programs.
