After graduating from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in polymer chemistry in 1990, Dr. Bridgette L. Gomillion-Williams was employed by Shaw Industries, in which she worked as an extrusion plant chemical engineer for two years. After accruing several years in the field and obtaining her PhD in polymer science from Clemson University, she joined The Dow Chemical Company in 2000 as a senior research engineer – a position she held for three years. From there, she advanced to the rank of product development specialist in 2003 prior to departing from Dow in 2009.

From 2009 to 2017, Dr. Gomillion-Williams served as a technical research specialist for SaintGobain Performance Plastics. After resigning from this post, she joined Quanex Building Products Corporation in 2017, where she remains today as a senior silicone chemist. Witnessing much success throughout her professional career, she attributes that success to her natural curiosity and willingness to move forward. Dr. Gomillion-Williams has maintained affiliation with the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the American Fiber Society, the American Chemical Society and the Society of Plastics Engineers. In light of her exceptional undertakings, she has accrued myriad accolades and recognitions, including being inducted into Elite American Executives in 2011, Top Female Executives from 2012 to 2014 and Top Female Executives from 2016 to 2017, and named Professional of the Year from 2011 to 2012 and again from 2014 to 2015 and Industry Expert in 2017. Likewise, she was the recipient of the Worldwide Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011, 2015, 2016 and 2017, and was featured in Pro-Files Magazine in 2012, 2013 and 2016. Most recently, she was a featured member in a calendar series in 2017 and was highlighted in the 71st edition of Who’s Who in America in 2018.

Looking toward the future, Dr. Gomillion-Williams intends to continue pursuing new opportunities to broaden her expertise in materials science, as well as teach at the collegiate level. Engaging civically with the United Way in her spare time, she also enjoys golfing, reading, and playing the piano and flute.
