Supported by a bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology from 1977 and a master’s degree in engineering management from George Washington University from 1997, Dwighd D. Delgado has served as the founder and sole member of Strategic Operations Solutions LLC in Gaithersburg, Maryland, since 2000. Dwighd was also an account manager for the Maryland Manufacturing Extension Partnership, operations manager for PremaTech Advanced Ceramics and vice president of manufacturing for Clear Align LLC. Furthermore, he excelled as the director of manufacturing at Janos Technology, as the vice president of operations at NDC Infrared Engineering, and as a consultant and project manager for Brüel & Kjær Vibro GmbH in Darmstadt, Germany.

Likewise, Mr. Delgado flourished with Fusion UV Systems and Fusion Systems Corporation, for whom he served in myriad roles, including director of fabrication, director of manufacturing, vice president of manufacturing and vice president of operations. Furthermore, he worked for GE Lighting in their Technology and Production Divisions as a materials specialist – production and control, process engineer, manager of new processes and equipment programs, senior project manager, resident engineering manager and technical leader. For GE Ceramics, he was also manager of special projects and operations manager for ECOM de Mexico, SA de CV, in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. In total, he has accrued more than 40 years within his fields of expertise.

Demonstrating versatility in his profession, Mr. Delgado has also served as a mentor, coach and business consultant. He has authored several books and articles within his field, such as “QFD Killed My (Pet) Project” and “3D Printing Primer: What’s the Buzz All About?” He has further been the subject of numerous other published articles by esteemed publications.

Among the notable highlights of his career, Mr. Delgado was instrumental in facilitating more than $5 million in economic impacts through the Maryland Manufacturing Extension Partnership between 2014 and 2016. Likewise, he facilitated a business turnaround by improving the EBITDA by 57.5 percent in the second half of 2007 and 24.7 percent in the first half of 2008 for Janos Technology, leading to a planned successful liquidity event of more than $130 million. At Brüel & Kjær Vibro GmbH, he saved 200 jobs and ensured the company’s viability by developing innovative world-class multi-tier supply chains within six months in 2004. At Fusion UV Systems, he facilitated a 15.7 percent average annual growth rate in business from $17 million in 1990 to $84 million in 2001.

Looking toward the future, Mr. Delgado intends to continue facilitating workshops for key reports who work with chief executive officers. He finds the most rewarding aspect of his career to be the relationships he has nurtured, as well as his aid in the development of emerging leaders as an instigator, challenger, integrator and motivator.
