A past chair of the Aberdeen Proving Ground Media Services Committee, Ms. Weston briefly sat on the job analysis task force for the Department of the Army in Washington, DC, in 1976. Demonstrating versatility in her field, she further authored “Operating Procedures” in 1988 and maintains affiliation with the Special Libraries Association, the Retired Officers Association and the Red Hats Club. A certified professional librarian in the State of Virginia, Ms. Weston became involved in her profession due to her desire to be involved in education, but not teaching. Enthralled by the library sciences, she went back to college and earned a library science degree in 1969. When asked of her career highlights, she cites meeting her husband Leonard, a former historian in Aberdeen, as a crowning moment of her career.
Married to her husband since 1972, Ms. Weston is the proud aunt of three nieces. Encouraging her nieces to attend college, she is proud of them for obtaining a free ride to college for all four undergraduate years. In her spare time, Ms. Weston enjoys needlecrafts, reading, dancing, traveling, attending the theater and participating in church activities.
