Impressively, Dr. Fehlner holds 15 patents in the field of chemistry. A contributor of over 70 articles to professional and scientific journals, he previously authored “Low Temperature Oxidation” in 1986, which he considers a career highlight. He has always been enthusiastic about studying glass, especially as it relates to flat displays. He likes to emphasis that communications in science are as important as the experiments themselves. Developments in his profession have been followed through membership in the American Chemical Society, the Electrochemical Society and Sigma Xi. Demonstrating versatility in both his personal and professional lives, Dr. Fehlner also enjoys glass blowing at the Glass Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass. He formerly sang in the Corning Philharmonica Choir during the 1970s and 1980s and supports his local community through association with the Library Support Committee of the Southeast Steuben County Library.
