With an interest in writing from a young age, Margaret Munnerlyn used her passion to share her knowledge with others. Before embarking on her career path, she earned certificates from the Lafayette Academy and the Albert Merrill School. Her passion was fueled early on by her mother, Georgie Frances Moultry, her father, Peter Moultry, and her cousin, J.T. Snead, who all exposed her to stimulating literature throughout her childhood. Throughout her career, Ms. Munnerlyn has believed that everyone has a gift, and she has chosen to share her gift in order to be a blessing to others. From 1974 to 1976, she served as a tutor for grade school and college students. In 1987, she served as a director, translator, and researcher for a play about Puerto Rican culture. She has also worked as a reading tutor for at-risk children.
In 2004, she wrote “Food for Thought,” a book of inspiring prose and poetry about her life’s experiences and the people who surround her. She dedicated a chapter of the book to her mentally-challenged adult daughter, Arnetta. As a passionate writer, Ms. Munnerlyn has healed and changed people’s lives through her words of inspiration. In addition, she has also offered healing services through pro bono work in holistic medicine. Looking toward the future, Ms. Munnerlyn plans to continue using her gift to write and publish more work.
