After serving in the U.S. Army for more than 20 years, Dr. Jack M. Kloeber, Jr. retired as a lieutenant colonel in 2000. While in the military, he was able to attend college, and he obtained a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering and a Master of Science in industrial engineering, both from Lehigh University. In 1995, he received a Doctor of Philosophy in engineering and economic decision analysis from the Georgia Institute of Technology. While in the military, he taught graduate courses for six years at the Air Force Institute of Technology, and became well-versed in economic decision analysis. After this, he wanted to use his skills to help other companies and went on to become the director of portfolio management at two pharmaceutical companies, Bristol-Myers Squibb Company and Johnson & Johnson Services, Inc. Then, in 2007, realizing that he could do more work in the field as a consultant rather than remaining at one company, Dr. Kloeber joined the consulting company, Kromite. At Kromite, he served as a senior partner from 2007 to 2012, and then stepped into his current roles as principal and owner of the company. As principal and owner, he consults for research and development companies, helping them with decision making and analytics.
Dr. Kloeber has also extended his expertise by contributing book chapters to professional journals such as Portfolio Optimization and Portfolio Decision Analysis. He has also written 18 published articles in the field. As an accomplished professional, he attributes his success to luck, hard work, and his people skills, which have allowed him to build a strong network. In his spare time outside of work, he enjoys golf and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Looking toward the future, Dr. Kloeber hopes to continue to grow his company and become more active in charitable efforts.
