A dedicated healthcare professional, Chester T. Szerlag, MBA, FACHE, CMPE began his career as a consultant for Allied Management Consultants. Mr. Szerlag holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago, and has completed graduate courses at the University of Michigan. He is also a certified medical practice executive through the American College of Medical Practice Executives.

After serving as a consultant, Mr. Szerlag joined Blue Cross Blue Shield as the manager of the special accounts department, where he was able to move up in the ranks and learn the economics of the health care industry. He then transitioned to the Health Care Institute at the Detroit Medical Center and became the director of patient accounting because he wanted to focus on the health care delivery side of his field. He then got the opportunity to join the University of Chicago, where he was able to finish his Master of Business Administration while serving as the executive administrator of the departments of radiology, radiation, and oncology. He spent most of his career at the University of Chicago and was able to create lasting initiatives and contribute to a program whose academic mission was ranked top ten nationally. During his tenure at the university, he also became vice chair and director of administrative operations in the department of medicine. He finally served as a chief administrative officer of radiation oncology at Weill Cornell Medicine.

Outside of his practical work in the field, Mr. Szerlag has served on an advisory committee on clinical trials programs. He was also past president and chairman of the Society for Radiation Oncology Administrators and the past president of the Chicago Health Executives Forum. Civically, he served on several local boards and committees, and most notably, as president of the Polish Genealogical Society of America. He has also
offered his expertise as an author, speaker and contributor to professional journals in the field. In his spare time, Mr. Szerlag enjoys genealogical research, photography, travel, and motorsports.
