An esteemed educator, Sandra Marie Przybylski, MA CCC-SLP, is a noted speech pathologist with more than 40 years of clinical experience. Currently a speech language pathologist and an independent provider, she simultaneously works in the same capacity and as a special instructor with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s First Steps Program since 2002. Previously, she served as a speech language pathologist for various school districts in the states of Illinois and Missouri between 1971 and 2009.

Certified in clinical competency speech pathology and elementary teaching, Ms. Przybylski is also a certified speech language specialist, a licensed speech pathologist in the state of Missouri, and certified in special education. In preparation for her celebrated career, she first earned a Bachelor of Science in speech pathology and audiology from the University of Iowa in 1968. She followed this accomplishment with a Master of Arts in speech pathology from the University of Illinois in 1971. Since then, she has been transforming the lives of her students with developmental disabilities.

As an Autism advocate and activist, Ms. Przybylski has been recognized as a leading professional in her field with several honors and accolades. In the late 1980s, Ms. Przybylski fought with her local school district to consider other placements for children with Autism other than a behavior disordered classroom. A few years later, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education created a separate category for Autism. In 1990, she was named to the Distinguished Service Registry in Speech and Hearing. In addition, she was the recipient of the Continuing Education Award from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in 2013, among several others. Looking toward the future, Ms. Przybylski aspires to continue working with infants and toddlers with developmental disabilities in Missouri’s First Steps Program, evaluating and treating speech and language disorders while educating families.
