Backed by nearly five decades of invaluable experience, the Rev. Dr. Trevor Lloyd Grizzle has established himself as a renowned religious studies educator and minister. A native of Hanover Parish, Jamaica, Dr. Grizzle encompasses a rich cultural background that includes living in England, the United States, and Africa. Since 1982, he has served as a professor of New Testament and Greek at the Oral Roberts University Graduate School of Theology and Ministry. A committed member of the church, he has made it his duty to spread God’s love throughout the U.S., England and Africa, particularly in Ghana, where he served as a missionary teacher from 1968 through 1972. Further, Dr. Grizzle has spoken at national and international conventions, conferences and seminars. In 2002, he founded Hope International Ministries in Tulsa, Okla., and has since been serving as its pastor.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Grizzle has exercised his passion for scholarship through his affiliation with the Society for Pentecostal Studies. Dedicated to giving back to his community and concerned about the welfare of others, he has done fundraisers for the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association since 1996.

Dr. Grizzle received a Bachelor of Arts in religion from Lee University in 1975. He went on to earn a Master of Divinity from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1978, and ultimately received a Doctor of Philosophy from the Fort Worth, Texas-based seminary in 1984. Dr. Grizzle has been numerously recognized for his significant accomplishments. In 1991, he was dubbed Outstanding Faculty of the Year by the Oral Roberts University Graduate School of Theology and Ministry; he received the same honor in 1998. In 2001, the university nominated him for Scholar of the Year.
