Attorney Knapp is a long-time member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives, Elder Law Answers and the national and South Carolina chapters of the Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Moreover, she formerly served on the Family Law Committee and sits the Solo/Small Firm Counsel of the South Carolina Bar. Additionally, she has worked with the South Carolina Adult Protection Coordinating Council, as well as the Barnwell County Council of Aging, which is now called Generations Unlimited. To further contribute to her industry, Attorney Knapp has provided legal education to the University of South Carolina’s Summer School of Gerontology, the greater Augusta-Aiken area Alzheimer’s Association and the South Carolina Nursing Home Association.
In 1991, Attorney Knapp earned a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she was on the Dean’s Honor Roll. She is a nationally certified Veteran Affairs attorney and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court District of South Carolina. Dedicated to the welfare of her community, she has donated hundreds of hours in pro-bono legal services to organizations that promote local tourism, small business development, the arts and the protection of animals. Notably, Attorney Knapp writes Boomer Briefings, a column on elder law for the Mature Times, a monthly publication with the Aiken Standard. Furthermore, she is a widely-sought-after public speaker.
