A graduate of the University at Albany, State University of New York, Edward Bradley Sr. holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Public Administration. Before his retirement in  2005, his 32-year career took him to various New York state departments, including the Department of Social Services, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Civil Services, and the Department of Taxation and Finance. He ended his career after 22 years in his position as a computer programmer and analyst at the Department of Transportation. Mr. Bradley also briefly served as the commissioner and chairman of the City of Albany Municipal Civil Service Commission from 1992 to 1993.

Civically, Mr. Bradley has been involved with many communities for years, including the United Way of America and Northeastern New York, Inc., Child and Family Enterprises,  Inc., and the Birthright of Albany Inc. Currently, he maintains his involvement with the National Nominating Committee of the Outstanding Young Americans, Human Life International, the New York State Right to Life Committee, Inc., and the National Right to Life Committee, Inc. In 1982, Mr. Bradley’s professional and civic efforts were recognized when he was named One of the Outstanding Young Men in America.
