A respected and accomplished secondary school educator, Ann Kelly has amassed more than four decades of professional experience in the field of education. Since 2005, she has been a science teacher at Bishop DuBourg High School, having previously spent time as a fifth-grade science teacher at Our Lady of Sorrows from 1988 to 2005. Prior to these positions, she was a seventh-grade science teacher at Our Lady of Sorrows from 1986 to 1988 and a sixth- through eighth-grade science teacher at St. Raphael the Archangel from 1979 to 1986. She commenced her career as a fourth-grade science teacher at the Assumption School and St. Paul School between 1974 and 1979.

Alongside her primary endeavors, Ms. Kelly has been a local team leader with the Maury Project for Oceanographic Studies at the American Meteorological Society and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration since 2000. In addition, she has been a workshop presenter with the organizations since 1994, as well as a presenter at various other weather workshops since 1991. A teacher and trainer of the Science Olympiad  since 1987, she formerly was a trainer at the Archdiocese of St. Louis from 1994 to 2002 and a trainer for the Fifth Grade Developmental Approaches in Science and Health in 1993.

Ms. Kelly entered her profession because of her passion to help form the future of her country and help students grow and benefit from a high-quality education. To prepare for her celebrated career, Ms. Kelly pursued a formal education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, earning a Bachelor of Science in elementary education in 1977. She subsequently completed postgraduate coursework at a number of academic facilities between 1978 and 2009, including the University of Missouri-St. Louis, the University of Missouri, Webster University and the College at Brockport, State University of New York. She is certified as a teacher for kindergarten through eighth grade.

In an effort to remain aware of changes within her field, Ms. Kelly is a member of the National Science Teachers Association, Science Teachers of Missouri and the American Meteorological Society. A native of St. Louis, she enjoys singing, dancing, walking and taking photography in her spare time. In recognition of her exceptional contributions to education, she was named a Worldwide Humanitarian in 2018.
